Well Check-ups

Well child exams from birth-21 years include growth monitoring, developmental screening, exam, anticipatory guidance and vaccines.

A guideline from the American Academy of Pediatrics is generally in use by our office.

This guideline recommends check-ups at  3-5 days, 2 weeks, 2 mos, 4 mos, 6 mos, 9 mos, 12 mos, 15 mos, 18 mos, and 24 mos.

A yearly check up is advised after age 2.

Your doctor may recommend a slightly different schedule for your child based on individual patient situation and best clinical judgment.

Most insurance plans cover care provided under this schedule but we encourage our families to check with their insurance plans to confirm coverage as this has recently changed.

Immunizations are generally part of most well check-ups and a review of necessary catch-up vaccinations is done at every office visit.

Our office follows the current CDC immunization schedule. This link includes a description of each vaccine and each vaccine-preventable disease.

School sports and camp physicals are often necessary for children as they get older.  This Health History Questionnaire must be completed before any of our physicians can sign the forms.

Some chronic health conditions such as asthma, ADHD, diabetes require regular follow-ups and medication checks with your chosen pediatrician at least every 6- 12 months or more frequently based on a child’s individual situation.

Sick Visits

We provide same day appointments for our sick patients. We manage minor injuries such as wound closure, splinting and casting.  Lab and Xray are available in our building.
