Anxiety can be described as fears and worries that are out of scale with the situation and get in the way of normal day-to-day activities. Often a child has considerable distress and negative thinking and tries to avoid what causes his/her stress. Physical symptoms may include headaches and stomach aches. We can suggest resources to help you parent your child who is experiencing anxiety. It is a good idea to schedule an appointment to discuss this with your child’s primary doctor to help determine if other conditions may be present as well, such as learning difficulties or sleep problems.
