Starting the conversation about ADD/ADHD with your doctor:

Parents or teachers may wonder if a child’s focus, distractability, impulsiveness, or lower than expected school performance are signs of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We encourage you to talk to your child’s doctor at North Seattle Pediatrics if you have any concerns about ADHD. After completing symptom questionnaires done by parents/caregivers and teachers, we will schedule an appointment with enough time to review your and your child’s teacher’s concerns, as well as medical, family and other history. The questionnaires, called Vanderbilts, can be printed from our website and returned to our office, via MyKidsChart portal, fax or mail for the doctor to review. It is also helpful to read reliable online information about ADHD, such as those listed below.
