NSP Statement regarding CDC Revised Childhood Immunization Schedule for 2026
On January 5, the CDC released a substantially revised 2026 Childhood Immunization Schedule, reducing the number of routinely recommended vaccines for children from 17 to 11. The Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH), West Coast Health Alliance (WCHA), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) caution that this federal decision bypasses standard scientific review and overlooks disease-specific risks and public health infrastructure unique to the United States.
Our providers along with the organizations mentioned above continue to strongly recommend following the AAP’s evidence-based vaccine schedule. All vaccines will remain fully covered by insurance for the 2026 plan year.
